Caring for rustic finishes and natural jute

Rustic bells are made to show texture. Their colour variations, seams and distressed markings are part of the appearance, so gentle care helps you keep that character.

Dust gently

Use a soft, dry cloth and a light touch on the metal. Avoid abrasive cloths and cleaning products that could alter the finish.

Keep moisture away

Do not soak the bells or the jute. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, and keep the display in a dry environment. We have not verified weatherproof performance, so contact us before planning outdoor use.

Look after the rope

Natural jute has visible fibres and an irregular surface. Keep it dry and inspect the ropes and fittings when changing a display. Ask us for the set weight before choosing how to hang it.

Store thoughtfully

Dust the bells before seasonal storage. Keep them in a dry place, with enough separation to avoid the pieces rubbing against each other.

A finish with its own character

Differences in tone and texture are part of handmade work. If you have a concern about a specific mark, send us a photograph rather than trying to polish it away.

Contact the makers for product-specific care advice.
